Becoming a Regular Character on DU

Creating a regular character for yourself makes you a permanent member of the Diversity University community. It enables you to use features like MOOmail, to describe your character, and to add information about yourself so that others can learn more about you. You must ask the wizards to provide you with a regular character. To do this, type @request, and a list of instructions and an application form will appear on the screen.

The first step is to enter the name you wish your character to have. Usually, people use their first names. Make sure you read the introductory paragraph that discusses appropriate character names.

After choosing your character name, you must enter your email address.

If the character name you entered is already taken, you will be asked for a new entry. You can try adding the first initial or several letters from your last name: for example, "JaneD" or "JaneDoe" rather than "Jane".

You will now be asked for personal information in order for the wizards to keep accurate records of the DU user community. You will need to enter your real name, birthdate, location, occupation or student status, area of study or expertise, and reason for needing character status.

After you have completed this information, your request will be sent to a wizard. A wizard will email you with a response, and if you are accepted, you will receive your character name and password via email.
